Highland Arts Unlimited, Inc. began in the fall of 1972 when a group of local citizens met to form a nucleus to raise enough money to bring the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra to Keyser for a performance. One of the original members of that group, Dr. Charles D. Whitehill, serves on the board of directors today.
We are proud of the excellent quality of this year’s programs, which are funded in part by membership contributions, corporate sponsors, Potomac State College, and the Mineral County Board of Education. We would also like to acknowledge financial assistance from the West Virginia Division of Culture and History, and the National Endowment for the Arts, with approval from the West Virginia Commission on the Arts.
HAU memberships also support free arts programs in Mineral County schools.
